Networking Events

Our networking events are held quarterly.

Stay tuned for details.

Each board member is assigned one or more of the 5 initiatives to chair and move it forward.  We examined our core competencies and our target competencies to determine what our urrent skills are, and what additional skills are necessary to continue to be successful.  We identified possible partners and alliances.   We studied the effect of the current economy.   We determined what the private and public sector investment might look like.  We looked at the downtown from a retailer, building owner and investor point of view.  Our first meeting consisted of really looking at ourselves to discover who we were and what we thought success looked like from now until 2014.  We fully intend to involve our membership as we all understand that you are the true owners of this plan.  We expect to achieve our strategies with your help and full understanding of where we are headed.  The web site will be used as a quick medium to share that information, so please take the time to mark it as a favorite so you can find it easily.   We know that you have a choice on where to spend your volunteer dollars, and so we expect that you will enjoy seeing our full budget, plan strategies and actions and accomplishments as we move forward.

As a non-profit organization, the DLA continues to look for new members, volunteers and board members who believe in our commitment to downtown.  It doesn’t happen overnight, but if you look closely you can watch it happen a little bit every day.   Do you want to be involved?   Do you have that desire and vision for a successful downtown?
If so, contact the DLA, and we will see where you fit into our organization.  After all, downtown depends upon all of us!  Please check the contact portion
of our website for phone numbers and email addresses.

Thanks.  Bob Doolittle
